External Templates defines settings similar to an External Miner and can be used to quickly change the configuration for one or many External Miners. External Templates are defined in the Options dialog, External Miners section, External Templates tab, as illustrated below.

To use a template, select one or more External Miners in the main window and go to the toolbar More, Apply External Template. Select a template to apply to all selected miners, as illustrated below. 

The Description field of the External Template is used to display the name of the template itself, and it will not be applied to the External Miner. Additional properties can also be configured to be excluded when the template is applied. In the Properties dialog of the External Template, Template settings section, properties like "Add to worker name" can be excluded from being applied as part of the template.

External Templates can also be applied via the rules in Awesome Miner, using the Apply External Template action.
