Heat maps are used to visualize the temperature or hashrate of miners. The heat maps typically represent the physical location of the miners, making it easier to find a specific miner.

Heat maps can be created via the Groups tab in Awesome Miner. Right click on a Miner Group or Virtual Miner Group and select Create heat map

The heat map colors can be configured in the Options dialog, Appearance section. For the hashrate view, the color will be based on the current hashrate compared to the ideal hashrate of the miner, defined in the Profit Profile of the ASIC miner.

Configure heat map

To configure the heat map, to change size, add miners and more - click on the two double arrows located in the upper left corner.

Antminer IP reporter

To access the features for Antminer IP Reporter, click on the button with three vertical dots to open the menu, as illustrated below.

Most Bitmain Antminer ASIC miners have a physical button on the control board labeled IP Report. When pressed the Antminer sends a UDP broadcast message on the network. Awesome Miner can listen to this signal as long as it's running on the same network where the UDP messages can be received.

When using Start adding via Antminer IP Reporter, Awesome Miner will listen to the broadcast messages on the network. This can be used to arrange the miners in the heat map. The miner must be present in Awesome Miner already and must be in the list of miners not yet added to the heat map.

When pressing the button on the Antminer, Awesome Miner will receive the IP address and MAC address of the Antminer and add it to the heat map. Then the focus rectangle is moved to the next free area in the heat map. When pressing the button on the next Antminer, it will be added to the heat map.

This process makes it possible to press the button on all Antminers, one by one, in the order they are physically located in the data center.

Heat map groups

The heat maps can be organized in groups. A group can either contain other heat maps groups or miners. When no miners are added to the map, the options to select either Miners or Groups are available.

By selecting Groups, all miner groups contained within the current group will be possible to add to the map.
